Overhead Davit

Linear Davit are full width cranes, they are all electric and self contained, normally these are able to extend out of both sides of the vessel, this gives good flexibility as the crane can have a very large pickup area

Disadvantages

• If there is accommodation between the tenders then the beam passes though the headlining, this means that access needs to be designed in.

Advantages

• very compact and contains all drive and winch motors
• electric so there is no risk of leaks.

Usage

• Generally where tenders are stored on opposing side garages.
