Telescopic Beam

Telescopic beam cranes are usually used in pairs with an integral power pack, they consist of a carriage, primary and secondary extension.

Disadvantages

  • Due to the box in a box situation the depth is more than the sliding beam crane
  • Hydraulic, potential for leaks causing oil behind headlining/on Teak
  • Less cost effective than sliding beam.

Advantages

  • short length in relation to extension
  • self contained winch
  • MCA version

Usual use

  • single side garage or side deck mounted tender when there is no ability to use more width than the side deck or side garage
