Sliding Beam
Sliding beam crane, this is a single beam with
no telescopic extensions, as it extends a car travels along the beam,
this means that an object can be lifted towards one end of the beam,
and as it extends the car moves along the beam as the beam is pushed
out of the vessel. When specifying, leave one third of the beam in the
vessel when fully extended
Disadvantages
- The maximum extension is roughly two thirds of the
length of the beam ( the beam can be longer than the garage area by
extending into the adjacent area).
- Hydraulic, potential for leaks causing oil behind headlining/on Teak
Remote mounted winch
Advantages
- Cost effective, this is the simplest of the overhead davits.
- Low profile
- Light Weight.
Usual Use
- Generally used in stern garage but can be used laterally if the requirements are met.
